Open Book

Open book will not meet during the summer months on Sunday mornings.
Check out The Side Door for community, food, and conversation!

Every week, we spend some time reflecting on the biblical passage for that particular day. Trinity and many, many other churches cycle through biblical texts as we live in each season of the church year.  (These selected texts make up the greater “lectionary.”)

Okay, great.  Now, what do these ancient texts have to do with us today?

During Open Book, we begin our time reading through the Gospel text for that Sunday and see what catches our mind.  Perhaps a certain word or phrase sticks out…  Or, maybe we read something that just doesn’t make sense (or is offensive…or just down-right bizarre!).

We value open minds and open hearts as we breathe the text of the day.

No need to prepare anything before hand or have any answers.  Meet in the Christian Life Center (CLC) Classroom at Trinity at 10:05am every Sunday morning.  (It’s a pretty big building, so if you get lost, don’t hesitate to ask someone for directions!)

Click here to see what text we’re reading next Sunday. If you’d like, feel free to comment any thoughts or things that come to mind.  The great thing about open questions (and thoughts) is that there are no “right” answers…so, get writing and we’ll see you next Sunday!
